Planter Mix
+ Soil Application

Soil For Common Use

The ingredients tell the real story! A good planting medium is designed to stay "fluffy" and not compact too much in the challenging environment it is used in. The mix will not dry out too quickly but will resist compacting so that the plant's roots can take up water and moisture from its environment.

Fun Fact: The scientific basis of soil science as a natural science was established by the classical works of Vasily V. Dokuchaev. Previously, soil had been considered a product of physicochemical transformations of rocks, a dead substrate from which plants derive nutritious mineral elements. Soil and bedrock were in fact equated.

Dokuchaev considers the soil as a natural body having its own genesis and its own history of development, a body with complex and multiform processes taking place within it - Vasily Dokuchaev

LGM Planting Mix

Planting mix should not be confused with potting soil due to the characteristics of its combined mix. It is lighter and holds moisture longer.

Our planting mix contains organic wood material, Canadian peat moss, oak leaf mold, and perlite. This combination makes for a higher quality mix of ingredients that support longer lasting quality of amendments within your soil.

If you would like to use our Planting Mix as a potting soil for a raised bed, we encourage you to mix it with 1/3 native soil and or perlite to increase drainage.
