Oak Leaf Mold
Excellent mulch for all acid loving plants
Best Use:
This high-quality mulch is ideal for acid-loving plants such as azaleas, camellias, hydrangeas, gardenias, & blueberries. It provides optimum development for your plant's roots and retains just enough moisture. Best for all acid-loving plants and other garden or potted plants.
Improving Native Soil
The high organic content of Oak Leaf Mold makes it an excellent soil conditioner. In clay soils, Oak Leaf Mold improves aeration and drainage. In sandy soils, Oak Leaf Mold improves the water-holding capacity allowing it to retain more moisture, especially during hot summer months.
- Spread a 2"-4" layer of Oak Leaf Mold over the soil
- Mix into the top 4"-6" of soil. Be cautious not to damage roots around existing plants.
Mulching
Oak Leaf Mold is ideal for azaleas, camellias, gardenias, hydrangeas, and other acid-loving plants. Mulching helps your soil retain moisture and nutrients as well as providing a cooler environment for root development during hot summer months. A thick layer of mulch also helps reduce weeds.
- Spread a 1"-3" layer of Oak Leaf Mold around the plant covering the root area but not the crown of the plant.
Blending Your Own Potting Mix
Oak Leaf Mold is ideal to use for potting begonias, fuchsias, cactus and all other acid-loving plants.
Acid Loving Potting Mix: Blend 2 parts Oak Leaf Mold to 1 part Potting Soil
