that Provide Warmth & Growth

Decrease the issue of having unwanted weeds, and improve soil.

Compost with Success

Here at LGM Soil, we use compost materials to mulch lawns. Our “Success for Lawns” is made up of composted forest material, and Canadian sphagnum peat moss. Making your soil a higher quality product, that lasts longer with the right pH needed for your lawn. Yes, grass clippings are an option, but you can increase the issue of having unwanted weeds, and you have to add additional amendments to the soil.

Your lawn will need extra care and our “Success for Lawns” mulch has the best density that will stimulate lawn roots and provide warmth for new seeds. Mulching is great for your lawn for several reasons - it saves time, money, labor, and is a great soil amendment. “Success for Lawns” inherently betters the biodiversity and organic matter of your soil.

To avoid disappointing results with mulching leaves, we encourage you not to mulch to the point where the grass is smothered. The grass should still be vertical and visible through the layer of mulched leaves. In certain areas, it may help to spread the mulch around from thick spots to areas with thinner mulch distribution.

How to apply “Success for Lawns”?

  • Spread the mulch on the lawn or soil bed using a case spreader, leaving about a 1/4 to 1/2 inch of fine, weed-free soil.
Tip: Mulch around your bedding plants to avoid weeds from taking root and spreading to your lawn.
  • Keep the ground damp but do not overwater.
Tip: For smaller lawns, covering the area with a garden fabric can help with seed germination
  • Be patient and watch your grass begin to flourish.
