Celebrate Spring at Tomatozania – Grow Better with Great Soil

Spring planting season is here, and gardeners across Southern California are getting ready for one of the most exciting events of the year, “Tomatozania at Cal Poly Pomona!”
Hosted at the university’s Farm Store and Nursery, this annual plant sale celebrates gardening, agriculture, and community while offering gardeners access to a huge selection of tomato plants and seasonal crops grown by students in the university’s plant science program. Proceeds from the sale directly support student learning and the agricultural programs that prepare the next generation of farmers, horticulturists, and agricultural innovators.
For nearly three decades, Tomatozania has become a regional tradition, drawing thousands of gardeners looking for unique varieties — from heirloom tomatoes to specialty and container varieties. The plants are propagated and grown by students, giving them valuable hands-on experience while supporting real agricultural education.
Why Soil Matters
Growing great tomatoes starts below the surface. Healthy soil supports strong roots, balanced moisture, and the nutrients plants need to thrive. Whether you're planting in raised beds, containers, or backyard gardens, choosing the right soil blend can make the difference between an average harvest and a thriving garden.
At LGM Soil, we’re proud to support gardeners and agricultural education by providing soil products designed to help plants succeed from the start.
