Ingredients
- 5-gallon bucket
- Non-chlorinated water (fill the bucket)
- 1 shovel-full of well-aged compost
Directions
- Place the compost directly into the bucket filled with water.
- Stir vigorously to oxygenate the mixture.
- Let the mixture steep for about a week, stirring once or twice daily.
- After a week, strain the solids out using a mesh cloth or old t-shirt.
- Dilute the liquid with water if it's very dark (a 1:1 ratio is recommended).
- Apply directly to the soil around plants or as a foliar spray.
Notes
- Always use non-chlorinated water, as chlorine can harm beneficial microbes.
- Use the compost tea immediately after brewing to ensure microbial activity.
- Clean all equipment thoroughly before and after use to prevent contamination.
